Gyrocopter lands in restricted airspace in Washington DC. No one hurt, but questions remain how this was even possible given the restrictions in the airspace. Pilot apparently wanted to protest corruption and carried letters to members of congress. http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/elections/ruskin-mailman-tries-flying-to-capitol-in-gyrocopter-to-deliver-campaign/2225584

FAA regulation is leaving out the possibility of autonomous drone based delivery

Proposed FAA regulation on commercial use of drones is leaving out the possibility of autonomous drone based delivery. The FAA is accepting comments on the proposed regulations for 60 days. 30 min delivery not only of books and electronics, but also of for example medicine may be at stake here.                                                http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/feb/15/amazon-faa-rules-commercial-use-drones

FAA proposes new rules for UAVs/drones

FAA proposes new rules for UAVs/drones. New rules would make flying drones under 55lbs for business easier. Pilots to be 17 years or older, pass written aeronautics test and vetted by TSA, but no private pilots license needed. Speeds up to 100mph and heights below 500 feet are suggested. Also suggested are more flexible rules on micro-drones under 4.4lbs (2kg).
